Rendezvous at The Upper Crust

The Upper Crust: A taste of Paris in Karachi

Had a great Sunday afternoon shooting sumptuous food, and tasting them at Upper Crust. True treat for Karachiites and food lovers located at Zamzama lane. Today is the 4th day of this very brand new Bakery and café. Hamid Ali Khan the owner of the place invited me over to do the photo shoot of the bakery and was generous to present us with a range of goodies for tasting. Loaded with our heavy cameras I and my partner clicked away the mouth watering food offered here.

Tastefully decorated seating area along with a spectacular bakery shelves loaded with freshly baked goodies includes cakes, cheesecakes, and deserts.

The deserts smell of vanilla, not the essence but the actual vanilla pods shipped directly from Madagascar. The freshly baked plain and whole, and multigrain Loaves, Baguettes, Buns, Croissants, all wrapped in aroma of freshly brewed coffee imported from Sicily.

The café serves truly unique and world-class selections of sandwiches and burgers, that was quiet an experience tasting them. Their distinct fresh taste owes to the fresh produce that comes from Hamids' personal farm at Malir, and his home garden that grows, herbs like Basil, Oregano, Thyme and Rosemary. The selection of bread is amazing and rightly so, since Hamid also has his own flour mill and can do wonders with a range of flour to create the bakes the bakery offers.

Hamid is a highly qualified person with a Masters degree in Food Technology from the University of London. Moreover, he has a degree in Chocolate Studies from the Callebaut Chocolate Academy in Singapore . The unique environment of the café definitely reflects that he was trained by Alain Ducasse - a six star chef of Paris at Le’ Ecole de Causin.
We loved knowing him and his passion for carefully prepared tasteful cuisine.

The place is by all means promising and going to rock!!

I highly recommend it to people looking for something unique and a true Paris style Patisserie.
